Taking place six months after Finding Nemo, Dory suddenly recalls her childhood memories. Remembering something about "the jewel of Monterey, California", accompanied by Nemo and Marlin, she sets out to find her family. She arrives at the Monterey Marine Life Institute, where she meets Bailey, a white beluga whale; Destiny, a whale shark; and Hank, an octopus, who becomes her guide.

All the birds live peacefully in a small paradise of flightless birds, except Red (Jason Sudeikis), as he has a lot of anger for no reason. One day, they find out the mysterious appearance of pigs on the island, including Ross (Tony Hale) and Earl (Blake Shelton), lead by Leonard (Bill Hader). The flock team up to investigate about the piggies and find out their intention behind this.
